Our Program
- Identify economically underprivileged families through extensive demographic penetration in chosen areas
- Analyse comprehensively the prospective beneficiaries on select criteria, evaluate, and decide on the list of families to receive the foundation’s support
- Offer financial support and counselling to the selected beneficiary and the family, with preferential treatment for single-child families, single-parent families
- Monitor and guide beneficiaries on an ongoing basis through the Mentoring Program and periodic reviews
The philosophy which marks the genesis of AEF is to invest on identified families in the social fringes by not only educating the children belonging to such families but also on their healthcare, cultural development, and personality improvement to help them evolve as an effective harbinger for the socio-economic advancement of the entire family.
AEF aims to have a deep engagement with the identified families, and specifically the children who are beneficiaries, to continually monitor their overall welfare. AEF recognises that the critical success factor of this community intervention needs competent and well-meaning individuals ( Mentors ) to provide constant handholding and guidance to the chosen beneficiaries to excel in their academic endeavours.

I am Sundararajan. My family, well it’s very small – my mother and myself. My mother works as an Accountant in a Private Company. My father passed away 9 years ago and since then my mother was facing issues financially for my higher studies. And about myself, I scored 463 out of 500 in my 10th Board Exam and 1110 out of 1200 in my 12th Board Exam and I always wanted to pursue a career in Maritime Industry. Ascend Educational Foundation came forward to support my education and maritime training courses financially and otherwise. The regular counseling by the mentor and the Annual Review Program conducted by Ascend gave me adequate guidance and confidence to go through my academic program successfully. Now after 3 years of higher education, I am placed in a highly reputed shipping company with a good salary. Thanks to Ascend Educational Foundation. They have changed my life’s trajectory for sure.

It helped me to complete my course without any issue. Ascend also helped me to understand the values of other skills I needed once I complete my college degree, which played an important role in securing a job. The sessions I had with my mentor gave me a chance to know the skills and other areas of improvement and it also encouraged me to learn new things and acquire better knowledge of the world after my college days. Who’s Me
Hello! I am Chelsea Rajanayagam doing my Under-graduation in the Department of Information Technology in Women’s Christian College. To tell about my family, it’s a very small one – my father, mother and myself. And my hobbies are gardening and collecting information. Through my college campus recruitment process I got a placement in Cognizant Technology Solutions, more popularly known as CTS.
What I Wanted to Study?
I always wanted to pursue a career in Information Technology and hence my natural choice for my undergrad was IT. While starting my under graduation I was also determined that I should pursue my masters in IT. However, I was also very clear that I would prefer to do my Masters through correspondence after getting myself placed in good organisation after my under-graduation, for the reason that there was a certain necessity on me to start earning as early as possible owing to the economic consideration of my family. Ascend Educational Foundation had extended a helping hand, starting from high school days, by financially supporting my education. Further my mentor from Ascend, had gone a long way in guiding me through my education and also had provided me enough counselling, which enabled me to secure a placement in a reputed organisation.
Long Term Vision
I have two long term vision:
- The first one is to stabilise the economic conditions of my family and ensure that my parents and I lead a comfortable life.
- Secondly, it would be my professional aspiration to work abroad with an intention to adequately strengthen my skill sets, which would eventually facilitate my professional growth.
How Ascend Has Helped Me Through Out?
- I was chosen by Ascend Educational Foundation as one of the beneficiaries based on several criteria, the key being my academic performance, our economic background and I being the only child to my parents. From my 10th standard till the completion of my graduation now, I am financially supported by Ascend.
- I had a Ascend mentor, Mr.B.Kishore, who guided me very well throughout my journey and gave lot of ideas to achieve my goals.

I Joshna Angaleena Joseph, am honored to have the opportunity to write this testimonial as a recipient of the Ascend Educational Foundation [AEF]. As a young student, from a single-parent family with limited financial resources, pursuing higher education seemed an unattainable dream. By the grace of God, the Ascend Educational Foundation [AEF] stepped in and became my beacon of hope.
AEF, enabler to Realize my dream and achieve
AEF’s commitment to educating the less privileged and their belief in my potential have transformed my life in ways I never thought possible. Thanks to the foundation, I was able to pursue my educational goals without the burden of financial stress. The scholarship not only eased the financial burden but also instilled in me a sense of confidence and motivation to strive for excellence.
Mentoring and Empathy
Beyond the financial assistance, the foundation has been a constant source of guidance and support throughout my academic journey, (starting from my 12th standard until my Post Graduation in English Literature). Their mentoring program has provided me with invaluable advice and encouragement. The mentor I had was warm-hearted and understanding throughout the six years of my association with ASCEND. He has always been approachable, compassionate, and readily available to address any concerns or provide guidance. What sets the Ascend Educational Foundation [AEF] apart is the genuine care and commitment given to each recipient of the foundation. The founders take the time to understand our unique challenges and aspirations and tailor their support accordingly.
My future aspirations – Beat the odds to achieve my career goals with freedom and responsibility
As I reflect on my journey, I can confidently say that the Ascend Educational Foundation [AEF] has played an integral role in shaping my future. Education is the fundamental step to change one’s course of life. Their unwavering support in furthering this fundamental step has empowered me to overcome obstacles, pursue my passions and dream bigger (Research studies) than ever before.
